Warsaw, October 22-23, 2004
The Embassy is pleased to support a conference entitled “The American Economic Way: Its Character, Effectiveness, and Applicability,” organized by the Warsaw School of Economics, in cooperation with the American Enterprise Institute with the support of the National Bank of Poland. The conference will be held at the Westin Hotel in Warsaw on October 22-23.
Three experts from the renowned American Enterprise Institute will participate in the conference, including Dr. Steven Hayward, whom the Embassy is sponsoring. Dr. Hayward will also make presentations and meet students at the Economic Academy in Krakow, and at the American Corner in Łódź on October 25 at 9:00 a.m.
The conference celebrates the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Warsaw School of Economics, and will feature a number of internationally renowned speakers, including Professor Steve Hanke, a former member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, and Professor William Niskanen, the president of the CATO Institute and former chairman of President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers.
Speakers will address a number of themes, including applying the American economic model to Poland’s economy.
