Mayor Joe Sinnott and city council member (and sister cities chair Jim Thompson) led an official delegation from the city of Erie, Pennsylvania to Lublin, Poland this week and met with Ambassador Victor Ashe in his office on Thursday, May 18. They discussed the sister city relationship between Erie and Lublin and the benefits it has brought to both communities during the past 8 years. Included in the meeting were Sejm deputy Krzysztof Michalkewicz and representatives of the Mayor of Lublin's office.

They discussed items of mutual interest including the exchange programs that have resulted in 15 students from Poland studying at Mercyhurst College in Erie. Both cities have plans to expand their trade relationship, including working to improve the infrastructure of Lublin.
