President Hoover Honored in Poznan

Mrs. Joan Ashe represented Ambassador Ashe at President Herbert Hoover commemorative events in Poznan on May 4.

Mrs. Ashe joined Mayor of Poznan Ryszard Grobelny, Wojewoda of Wielkopolska Andrzej Nowakowski, and Dr. Maciej Siekierski of the Hoover Institution in California at a plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate former Hoover Square in the city center.

Later in the day Mrs. Ashe participated in the opening of the “Hoover and Poland” exhibit which documents Herbert Hoover’s humanitarian work in Poland after both World Wars.
