The State Department issued its annual Human Rights Report on February 28. In the section devoted to Poland, the report notes that "the [Polish] Government generally respected the human rights of its citizens; however ... the Government maintained some restrictions on freedom of speech and of the press. Women continued to experience serious discrimination in the labor market and ... trafficking in women and children was a problem." |
