The Embassy is proud to be a patron for the 2nd Warsaw Jewish Film Festival “Jewish Motifs” May 19-24. The Festival focuses on the Jewish nation, traditions, identity and history.
On May 23 the Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission Cameron Munter will welcome guests to an American Evening at Kino Muranów. The event begins at 7 p.m. with a concert by Cukunft and cocktails.
The screening of two American productions will follow: “Anya (In and Out of Focus),” a documentary by Marian Marzynski; and “L’Chayim Comrade Stalin” by Yale Strom. Both directors will meet the public after the screenings.
The goals of the Festival are to awaken the audience’s interest in topics related to cultural identity and preservation of Jewish culture and tradition as a source of Judeo-Christian civilization.
Organizers also hope to find ways of communicating with all religious, national and cultural communities through artistic expression to better know each other and better understand their diverse motivations. The Festival stands in opposition to intolerance, hatred and terrorism.
These goals go hand-in-hand with the aims of the U.S. Embassy in Poland.
