On June 10, the 31st Air Force Base held a VIP day for Exercise Sentry White Falcon at the 31st Air Force Base at Krzesiny, near Poznań.
Major General Randal Thomas, the Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard attended and was flown in a MiG-29 of the 3rd Tactical Fighter Squadron of the Polish Air Force. The Commander of the Polish Air Force, Lieutenant General Stanisław Targosz, received a flight in one of the Illinois F-16s.
F-16s from the 183rd Fighter Wing of the Illinois Air National Guard are participating in Exercise Sentry White Falcon, which will conclude this week. The exercise is intended to provide an orientation for Polish Air Force personnel to the F-16 and also continue familiarizing Polish pilots, maintenance, and logistics personnel with NATO flying procedures and interoperability with other aircraft in the Polish Air Force inventory. Poland is scheduled to receive the first of its F-16s in November 2006.
