Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs, Daniel Fried, visits Warsaw

President Kwasniewski, Assistant Secretary Fried, and Ambassador Ashe

 

Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs and former Ambassador to Poland from November of 1997 until May of 2000, Daniel Fried, met with President Kwasniewski on Friday, July 8th. The two discussed a wide range of issues surrounding the Polish-U.S. bilateral relationship.
Assistant Secretary Fried stopped in Poland after visiting Denmark with President Bush and will depart on Monday after further meetings with Polish officials. It is his first visit to Poland since being named Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs.
