The U.S. Embassy is pleased to sponsor performances by the American troupe known as Loco 7 Also supported by La MaMa Experimental Theater Company, Loco 7 will perform at three venues in Poland:

  • Oct. 2 Lublin International "Theater Confrontations" Festival
  • Oct. 10-11 Wroclaw Puppet Theater
  • Oct. 13-14 Opole Puppet Theater Festival

Under the direction and vision of Federico Restrepo, Loco 7 was founded in 1985. Loco 7's mission has been to develop the use of puppetry as an instrument for the dancer, a style which incorporates dance and design. Using rhythmic music, dancers, body puppets and larger-than-life marionettes, Restrepo weaves a choreography which extends beyond the body of the dancer. Dealing with themes such as South American culture and history, the immigrants' experience and urban life, Restrepo creates an animated movement, in an ever-changing and surreal environment, bringing the stage to life.
