U.S. Funds Polish Air Marshal Training

12 July 2006

A group of sixteen Polish Border Guards from the newly established Polish Air Marshal Unit will be trained in New Jersey July 17 – 28. The training will enable Poland to staff international “high-risk” flights. The cost of the two-week training financed by the U.S. State Department was estimated at 50,000 USD. Poland is the first European country to receive training at the Federal Air Marshal Training Center (FAMTC) located in Atlantic City, New Jersey. U.S. Ambassador Victor Ashe said, “America is pleased to work closely with Poland in the war against terrorism. Training for Polish air marshals is an important step forward in this war without borders.”
