On June 22 Ambassador Ashe hosted the closing ceremony of the American Military Academy Program, organized by the Auschwitz Jewish Center.
The program, which is in its second year, brings cadets and midshipmen from the Military, Naval, and Air Force and academies —to Poland to complete a three-week course on Holocaust and genocide education, with a special focus on military ethics.

The cadets and midshipmen spent two and a half weeks in Poland, visiting Warsaw, Kraków, and OswiÄ™cim.

The ceremony included remarks by Ambassador Ashe; David Goldman, the chair of the Auschwitz Jewish Center Foundation; and Alyssa Godesky, a Naval Academy midshipman who participated in the program. The Ambassador and Mr. Goldman also presented certificates to the program participants.
