The tenth Governor of Alaska, Frank H. Murkowski, led a trade delegation to Poland on April 18th. Governor Murkowski can trace his family tree back to Poland from the mid-1700s. The delegation included Stanislaw Borucki, the Honorary Polish Consul of Anchorage, Alaska. Governor Murkowski met with high ranking Polish Government officials including President Kaczynski and held trade talks with Polish importers and distributors of Alaskan seafood. In 2005, for the first time, Alaska exported $5 million worth of seafood to Poland, primarily salmon.
