Navajo Weavings on Exhibit in Lodz

17 September 2003

A unique traveling exhibition of Native American textiles from The Farmington Museum in Farmington, New Mexico, opens September 18 at the Central Museum of Textiles in Lodz. The exhibit is entitled "Trees in a Circle: Navajo Weavings of Teec Nos Pos."

On display will be thirty-one weavings that date from each decade of the 20th century and range in size from 3x4 feet to more than 8x14 feet. The textiles showcase the creative abilities and skills of Navajo weavers as well as the high quality of the collections of Navajo weavings at the museum and in the local community.

Both institutions are winners of round 1 International Partnership Among Museums sponsored by the American Association of Museums
