The U.S. Embassy in Warsaw and the Joint Special Operations University  coordinated and provided Advanced NATO Planning Education for the Polish Special Operations Command Staff and Polish 1st Special Forces Regiment in Kraków, February 9-27, 2009. The course is one of many ongoing engagements to provide POLSOCOM Staff education on NATO Special Operations doctrine, the Operations Planning Process, and special operations missions and requirements. This education event was part of the larger strategic partnership between the U.S. and Polish Special Operations Commands and was intended to enhance Poland’s Special Operations capacity. This unique relationship was highlighted during the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Bogdan Klich, Poland’s Minister of Defense, and Robert Gates, the U.S. Secretary of Defense.
