The Office of Defense Cooperation’s (ODC) Major Ray Wojcik and Ms. Magda Szkop recently took part in a very successful Training Program Management Review in Garmisch Germany. Ambassador Victor Ashe visited the conference and met with Rear Admiral Lyden, who as, European Command's Director of Logistics, manages Security Assistance activities for U.S. European partners. European Command’s annual conference allows ODC representatives to plan Security Assistance training for the next year. Three major elements are focused on at the conference: International Military Education and Training (IMET) program; Counter Terrorism Fellowship Program; and Foreign Military Sales / Foreign Military Financing related training. As a European Command Priority Partner, Poland is regionally, the largest recipient of Foreign Military Financing and the second largest IMET recipient among European Command's 91 engaged countries. By the end of the current year, hundreds of Polish officers, noncommissioned officers (NCOs) and soldiers will be trained in U.S. school venues either in America or in Poland by Mobile Training Teams. Additionally, ODC manages training for the F-16 program and familiarization events conducted in the framework of the Joint Contact Team Program and State Partnership Program. During the current year, over 100 F-16 maintainers and pilots will be trained in America and nearly 1000 other officers NCOs and soldiers will be familiarized on a variety of military topics under the Joint Contact Team Program and State Partnership Program.
