Ambassador Meets Poland’s Human Rights Ombudsman

Ambassador Ashe and Janusz Kochanowski

On March 14, Ambassador Ashe met with Poland’s Human Rights Ombudsman, Janusz Kochanowski. Dr. Kochanowski was elected by the Polish Sejm and confirmed by the Senate in January of 2006. The Ambassador congratulated Dr. Kochanowski on his new position and expressed the United States’ deep commitment to human rights and our desire to continue to cooperate with Polish authorities in this area. Dr. Kochanowski conveyed his great appreciation for the Ambassador’s visit and the United States’ historical contributions to the promotion of human rights in Poland and across the globe.
