Overstays by Polish citizens in the U.S. prior to 1989 will not be considered as a factor in determining visa eligibility and admissibility to the U.S, Secretary of State Rice announced In a meeting with Foreign Minister Rotfeld on May 31.

The Secretary noted that this initiative fulfilled an element of the Visa Roadmap agreed to by Presidents Bush and Kwasniewski in February, and that we hope it will enable more Polish citizens to visit the U.S.
