The Embassy hosts middle-school students from Kalisz

On March 17, 2009 the U.S. Embassy hosted 25 middle-school students from Kalisz (Wielkopolskie Province) at a Meet America Event. The group visited the Embassy with their teachers to learn more about studying opportunities in the U.S., Polish-American military cooperation and traveling opportunities in the U.S. Welcomed to the Embassy by Cultural Attaché Chuck Ashley, the students were then greeted by the U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe who also spoke to the group about the history of Polish-American diplomatic relations. Press Attaché James Wolfe presented the students with opportunities of studying in the U.S. and educational innovations they can search for while studying in Poland. Mary Peterson, Defense Attaché Officer, highlighted to the group the most important aspects in Polish-American military cooperation. The program was closed with the speaking performance by Consular Officer Andrew Hay who introduced the students to the benefits Work and Travel program and visa issues facilitating travel to the U.S.
