Ambassador Hill is Honorary Patron for Warsaw Exhibit

6 November 2003

Ambassador Christopher Hill has been named honorary patron of the exhibit “From Picasso to Warhol, 1964-2003.” The Zamek Ujazdowski in Warsaw is hosting the show, which runs from November 24 to December 26.

The exhibit features 27 artists -- 17 of them American, including Louise Bourgeois, Henry Moore, Red Grooms, Richard Estes and Andy Warhol. The paintings are on loan from the Marlborough Gallery in New York City.

The goal is to give the Polish public a chance to become familiar with the U.S. perspective on the world through many of America's internationally acclaimed artists.

VOX-Artis Contemporary Art Foundation in New York, Marlborough Gallery and pharmaceutical company Janssen-Cilag Polska are organizing the show.

The exhibit moves from Warsaw to the Poznan National Museum on January 5 and will be on display until January 25, 2004.
