Secretary of State Powell arrived Saturday night in Warsaw as head of the Presidential delegation taking part in the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.
The group includes U.S. Ambassador-designate to Poland Victor Ashe, Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago (Warsaw's sister city), Archbishop of Detroit Adam Cardinal Maida, Ronald Lauder, Chairman of Clinique, former Secretary of Veterans Affairs Edward Derwinski, and Chester Partyka of the Polish American Congress of Ohio.
On Sunday, Sec. Powell meets with President Kwasniewski, Prime Minister Belka and Foreign Minister Cimoszewicz. On the agenda are various bilateral and international security issues.
Sec. Powell will also lay a wreath at the Monument of the Undefeated Dead and deliver a speech at a concert scheduled for Sunday evening.
Sec. Powell heads home on Sunday night, following a week long tour that has taken him to Hungary, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Poland.
