Visa Processing

Processing of Diversity Immigrant Visas

I have received a notification from the Kentucky Consular Center that my entry has been selected in the Diversity Visa Lottery. What should I do now?

You should carefully and promptly follow the instructions enclosed in the notification.
The package you have received contains a set of the forms listed below. The sooner you complete them and mail them back to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) the greater chances you have for an earlier visa interview.

Form DSP-122 Supplemental Registration for the Diversity Visa Program - to be completed by the registered lottery participant; not by his/her family members

Form DS-230 Part I Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration - Biographic Data - to be completed by both the registered lottery participant and his/her immediate family members

Form DS-230 Part II Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration - Sworn Statement - to be completed by both the registered lottery participant and his/her immediate family members. Please do not sign this form. It must be signed only at the time of your formal visa interview.

All the forms completed for all applicants, the photographs and the bar-coded page with your personal date should be mailed in one package to:

Department of State
Kentucky Consular Center (KCC)
3505 North Highway 25W
Williamsburg, KY 40769
USA

What documents will I have to take with me for my visa interview?

At the time of your visa interview you will be required to provide the documents listed here.

Important: These documents must not be mailed to either the KCC or the Embassy. You will be required to furnish the documents on the day of your visa interview.

When will I be invited for the visa interview at the Embassy?

Once KCC receives forms DS230 and DSP122, an invitation with the date of your visa interview at the Embassy will be mailed to you by the KCC. Detailed information on the medical examination will be provided with the letter as well. DV-2009 visa processing must be completed and visas issued to all eligible family members on or before September 30, 2009.
