General Pulaski

 

President George W. Bush signed a proclamation decreeing October 11, 2005 to be General Pulaski Memorial Day. General Kazimierz Pulaski was a Polish general who fought under General George Washington in the American Revolution and is credited as being the “Father of the American Cavalry”. Gen Pulaski was killed at the Battle of Savannah, Georgia in 1779
