Ambassador Rockwell Schnabel, the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, visited Poland October 16-19.
Before coming to Warsaw on October 17, Ambassador Schnabel paid a private visit to Auschwitz and Krakow.
While in Warsaw, Ambassador Schnabel met with a range of Polish officials to discuss EU issues. Ambassador Schnabel also met with students from the Collegium Civitas, had lunch with the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce, and gave an interview to the daily Rzeczpospolita.
This was Ambassador Schnabel's first visit to Poland. He noted that Poland is "much more active" in the European Union than many had anticipated and that this would pay dividends for Poles
