On June 3rd, Embassy Warsaw participated in the tenth annual Science Picnic entitled “The World in Ten Years,” near historic Old Town organized by Polish Radio. The Embassy displayed a photo exhibit “Mars: Mission Possible” and had an interactive demonstration of a small rover moving over a miniaturized surface like the planet Mars. The photos from NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Mission were taken by rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, in their search for evidence of past or present signs of water in 2003. Press coverage on the Embassy’s exhibit was significant. Robert Orlowski and Boguslaw Kulesza from the Olsztyn Planetarium and Observatory who designed the interactive Mars rover were on TVP2 morning program “Kawa czy Herbata” on Friday, June 2nd with the rover featured throughout the program. During the picnic, Kulesza was interviewed by TVP1 and CAO, James Wolfe, by a reporter from Polish Radio.
