Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski announced on September 4 that the United States would be the “Lead Nation” for the 2007 International Defense Trade Show (MSPO). Ambassador Ashe and 14 other U.S. representatives attended the recent 2006 Trade Show Opening Ceremony in Kielce, Poland and the Ambassador was proud to hear the announcement saying that it is a wonderful opportunity for even closer cooperation with Poland. The designation of “Lead Nation” is an honor for the United States which sent an initial planning team to the 2006 show. The planning team included the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation and U.S. Commercial Service office; U.S. European Command; the U.S. Army’s Security Assistance Command; the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for “Simulation Training and Instrumentation,” and the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office “Soldier,” and the U.S. Army's Research Development and Engineering (RDE) Command. The MSPO is the largest Defense Trade Show in the region with several hundred exhibitors and over 10,000 annual visitors.
