From October 23-25 Ambassador Ashe traveled in the Lower Silesia region of Poland stopping in Kamień Śląski, Wrocław, Oberniki, Świdnica, Wałbrzych, Krasków, and Lubiąż. Highlights of the trip included an address at the conference “Conformity and Resistance in America” in Kamień Śląski, a tour of Książ Castle, and meetings with the Mayors of Świdnica, Wałbrzych, and Wołow.
