On March 22 US Ambassador Victor Ashe and the Polish Minster of National Defense, Radoslaw Sikorski, attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the official opening of the War Games and Simulation Center at Poland’s National Defense University in Rembertow. The opening of Poland’s first national-level War Gaming and Simulation Center marks another significant increase in Poland’s military capabilities. The US aided this military transformation effort by providing more than $5 million in US Foreign Military Financing grants. The National Defense University’s Commandant – Rector, Lt Gen Jozef Flis presided over the ceremony. The US embassy along with US European Command’s Warrior Preparatory Center and US Army’s Simulation Program Executive Office worked hard to help Poland realize its strategic war fighting simulation goals.
