Embassy Speakers Bureau Warsaw addresses the U.S. Freedom of Information Act

On Mon. Dec. 11, 2006 Will Webb of the Consular Section spoke to a group of over 150 high school students in Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski about the history of the U.S. Freedom of Information Act and its similarities to Polish law regarding public access to government information. After the presentation, Mr. Webb fielded numerous questions from the bright and inquisitive students. The organizer of the event, Grair Magakian of the Association for the Development of Democracy, called it a “big success” and noted with pleasure that “there was no wall between (the US representative) and the students.”
