Embassy Warsaw speaks about Tolerance and Alumni Association at Fulbright Conference

On November 3, the Polish Fulbright Alumni Association organized a conference on “Tolerance and Coexistence of Difference Cultures Today and Tomorrow” in Lodz partially supported from a grant by the Embassy. Political Counselor Mary Curtin participated in a panel discussion along with such distinguished alumni as the Mayor of the city of Lodz, Jerzy Kropiwnicki, Professor Andrzej Ceynowa, Rector of Gdansk University, Andrzej Rychard, famous sociologist from the Polish Academy of Science, and Stanislaw Kluza, Chairperson of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority and the previous Minister of Finance. At the end of the conference, Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer, Hilary Renner, spoke about the status of the new Polish Alumni Association and encouraged former Fulbright Scholars to register at the State Alumni Website. The delegation from the State University of New York (SUNY) which arrived to Poland to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the American Studies Center at Warsaw University also traveled to Lodz to participate in the Fulbright Alumni Association Conference. The conference gathered approximately 100 alumni from all over Poland and combined discussions about tolerance with an evening visit to the Lodz Film School and a viewing of the best student films over the decades.
