Colonel Rick Runner speaks to Polish and foreign university students

On 19 November 2008, Colonel Rick Runner, Defense Attache, spoke to Polish and foreign university students studying at the Lazarski School of Commerce and Law on the topic "US National Security Policy after the Election: Will there be Change?" Speaking shortly after the 4 November election, Colonel Runner offered insights into how security policy is formulated in the United States and what factors might influence the security policy of President-elect Obama. Without making any predictions as to what the future security policy of the United States might be, he reviewed the position of President-elect Obama on various issues as outlined in his campaign for president. He also answered several questions from the students on the subject. Colonel Runner stated during his lecture that President-elect Obama cannot effect change alone. He concluded the lecture by stating, "The world has taken a deep interest in the election of Barack Obama; now we expect the world to take a deep interest in working with President Obama to solve the challenges facing our global security."
