Jeanne Briganti gave welcoming remarks at the opening of an exhibit celebrating 90 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and Poland at the Pulaski Museum in
Warka. The exhibit, which featured photos, documents, and historical memorabilia from 1919-2009 also included a photo exhibit of all U.S. Ambassadors to Poland (donated by the Embassy) and Polish Ambassadors to the U.S. Mrs. Briganti also greeted thousands of Warka residents at the opening picnic “Vivat Pulaski,” an event held annually on the July 4th weekend to celebrate Polish-American relations and honor Polish-American Revolutionary War hero General Kazimierz Pulaski, who was born in Warka in 1745 and died at the Battle of Savannah in 1779. The event featured a picnic, parade of classic American cars, historical reenactments from the times of General Pulaski, concert of an American group “California Honeydrops”, “Blues Brothers Show” performed by a Polish group, and other performances of American music and comedy shows by Polish artists.
After the event in Warka Jeanne Briganti went on to Minsk Mazowiecki to express Polish-American friendship at American Family Picnic in Minsk Mazowiecki. The event was organized by "Mila” Association for Cooperation with Lacey to highlight sister city cooperation between Minsk Mazowiecki and Lacey, WA in the U.S. The program in Minsk Mazowiecki included competitions on American culture and history, mini rodeo, Native American attractions, performances by the winners of the American and English Songs Contest.
