Vice-Consul Kim Valdes-Dapena visited the elementary school in Śladów to discuss the National Parks System in the United States.  The student choir presented Ms. Valdes-Dapena with songs in Polish and English, and then the students showed her their various environmental projects in parks around Poland.  As part of their English language studies, they also gave a presentation about Kampinoski National Park outside of Warsaw and their joint project with the Indiana Dunes National Park.  Ms. Valdes-Dapena then gave a presentation showing them some of the natural wonders of the U.S. National Parks, including the Grand Canyon, Old Faithful and the Everglades.  The students demonstrated excellent English skills, knowledge about their parks and a wonderful curiosity about the United States.
