Embassy Speakers Bureau announces new themes for 2010!

Join discussion with U.S. Embassy diplomats in new thematic programs introduced by the Speakers Bureau Program for 2010! Speakers Bureau offers presentations by and discussions with  U.S. diplomats to Polish student and academic audiences, professional groups, local authorities, NGOs, and local media to expand knowledge about the U.S. and debate on issues of mutual interest.

This year’s themes are:

Speakers Bureau invites Polish audiences to explore the topics with U.S. Embassy diplomats through presentations, briefings, and seminars followed by discussion between the Embassy speaker and the audience.  Speakers Bureau encourages the audiences to invite the Embassy speaker to their venue to exchange perspectives on the chosen topic(s).

Speakers Bureau offers presentations and discussions on the following four themes in 2010:

Climate Change. It is important that all nations worldwide accept the responsibility to work together on combating climate change.  Speakers Bureau presents the U.S. perspective as we join our partners across the world in this effort.

Democratic Values and Human Rights. As a beacon of democracy and guardian of freedom the United States seeks to foster democratic values and human rights throughout the world, especially in the countries where these values are curtailed or still developing.  Speakers Bureau shows how the U.S. promotes democracy and defends human rights globally and nationally.

Tolerance and Diversity. As a multicultural, multiethnic society, the United States nestles diverse communities under the umbrella of tolerance and mutual understanding. The Speakers Bureau program highlights the abundance of cultures and values created by different communities in the U.S. and shows how these communities live in a tolerant and diverse society.

Transatlantic Security. Speakers Bureau explains U.S. policies and relations with our partners and Allies, and briefs on current trends in U.S. cooperation with NATO and the European Union, and strategies for transatlantic security.

In addition to Speakers Bureau seminars on these four themes, we can also accommodate requests for an American diplomat to speak to your group on other U.S. topics of interest, including  politics, culture, history, and society.

Please review the information we ask for below before contacting Małgorzata Dziełak at DzielakMK@state.gov so we can best accommodate to your request for a speaker:
