Famed American cartoonist Peter Steiner will exhibit his works in the Austrian Gallery of the Austrian Cultural Forum June 23 to September 10. The exhibit is sponsored by the U.S. and Austrian Embassies in Warsaw.
Mr.
Steiner, born 1940 in Cincinnati, studied German and worked as a
teacher of German for a few years in Pennsylvania. In 1977 he gave up
his job to pursue a life as an artist. Art -- especially drawing
cartoons -- has long been his vocation. The road to success was long,
but his works are now known worldwide. For almost twenty years, his
cartoons have appeared in The New Yorker; they can be found every day in The Washington Times, and once a week in The Standard. Steiner’s cartoons and paintings have been exhibited numerous times.
Peter
Steiner is also a renowned painter, concentrating on still life and
landscapes. His paintings and drawings have been displayed in
Washington’s Fendrick and Susan Conway Galleries.
The Austrian Cultural Forum is located at 8 Prozna Street in Warsaw.
