The Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy in Warsaw
has many cultural projects designed to share the American cultural
experience with Poland. Some of these are purely artistic, and others
have other social ramifications. One issue with which the United States
has deep experience, and which is very pertinent in Poland, is the
issue of tolerance. By observing the activities of many excellent
organizations around Poland, we have noted that the topic is becoming
well developed here.
The U.S. Embassy awarded a grant for the
Association Villa Decius in Krakόw to organize a 3-day international
conference on tolerance called tolerancja.pl. It will be held September
22-24, 2003. Click here
for the complete conference schedule. Ambassador Christopher R. Hill is
pleased to share honorary patronage of the project with Aleksander
Kwaśniewski, President of Poland.
The main objective of this
conference is to give organizations a platform to share their
experience with tolerance programs and enable them to make new contacts
among conference participants.
We encourage you to visit Villa Decius's website for more details on the conference.
