Ambassador Victor Ashe spoke at a reception in honor of a study visit of a group of Ukrainian television journalists to Poland on October 20, 2005. The reception was hosted by the Embassy, TVP1, and the non-governmental organization “Democratic Society East.” Funded by the Alumni grant program, the study visit included not only a week of training but the journalists were able to attend the final debate between the two Polish presidential candidates and some will interview the new president-elect Lech Kaczynski.
