On December 11, Consular Officer William Webb spoke to a group of over 150 Polish university and high school students in Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Poland about the history of the U.S. Freedom of Information Act and its similarities to Polish law regarding public access to government information. After the presentation, Mr. Webb fielded numerous questions from the bright and inquisitive students. The organizer of the event, Grair Magakian of the Association for the Development of Democracy, called it a “big success” and noted with pleasure that “there was no wall between the U.S. representative and the students.”
