Wieczfnia Koscielna Students Meet America

On August 1, as part of the Embassy’s “Meet America” program, over 30 students from the town of Wieczfnia Koscielna (north-west of Warsaw) visited the Embassy to learn more about diplomats’work and relations between the United States and Poland. The group was greeted by Charge d’Affaires a.i. Kenneth M. Hillas, who thanked students for their interest in the U.S. and briefed them about the embassy, including the new DEA office at the Embassy to help Polish authorities combat drug trafficking. Cultural Attaché James Wolfe provided a briefing on how the Embassy functions, and also spoke about his career as a diplomat. Vice Consul Gary Schaefer explained visa issues to the group and Marine Bradley Brockman spoke about the U.S. Armed Forces. Also, John Gorkowski from the Political Section described current U.S. – Polish political cooperation.
