"Will we live in a multi-cultural Euro-Atlantic civilization?" That's the question 124 students tried to answer in this year's essay contest sponsored by the U.S. Embassy and Wprost magazine.
The winner of the sixth annual competition is Michał Sadowski, a freshman in the English Department at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Mr. Sadowski, a native of Bolesławiec, will receive an Embassy-sponsored trip to the U.S. for a three-week program at the Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, Missouri. Upon his return, he will work for six months at Wprost.

Amb. Christopher Hill announced the winners at a reception on June 23. The two finalists were Justyna Mackiewicz of Świdnica and Izabela Redlinska from Warsaw.

Others recognized for their essays were Tomasz Fraszczyk (Warsaw), Paulina Dudek (Charsznica), Hanna Górka (Tychy), Natalia Mazur (Poznań), Adam Gabreyelów (Gostyń), Tomasz Frontczak (Kłodawa), and Michał Podsiadło (Kraków).
