On October 26, 2005 Ambassador Victor Ashe hosted a luncheon reception for the winners of the eighth annual Warsaw Public Affairs Section/Wprost Magazine scholarship essay contest. The theme of this year’s essay contest was “Is Democracy possible in a post-totalitarian country?” Ambassador Ashe and Wprost Editor-in-chief Marek Król offered comments, as well as this year’s winner, Maciej Duszyński. Mr. Duszyński had recently returned from a three-week-long internship at the University of Missouri School of Journalism which, in conjunction with a Wprost internship, is the grand prize of the contest.
