On Wednesday, June 7, Ambassador Victor Ashe and Marshal of Lower Silesia Province Pawel Wroblewski officially opened Poland’s second American Corner at the Provincial and City Library in Wroclaw. They were assisted by Library Director Andrzej Tyws. The American Corner will provide public access to information about the United States via book collections, magazines, DVDs and CDs, and the Internet, as well as information about educational opportunities in the U.S. The Corner will also serve as a meeting place and venue for public readings, lectures, and exhibits. Poland’s first American Corner was opened in Lodz in 2004.
