On Wednesday, September 7, Ambassador Lee Feinstein made his first official visit to the city of Poznan.  The Ambassador paid a visit to the U.S. Consular Agency Office and met with Consular Agent Urszula Dziuba to discuss U.S. involvement and outreach efforts in Poznan and the Wielkopolskie region.  Ambassador Feinstein then explored Poznan’s cultural offerings, stopping by the National Museum and the Museum of the History of the City of Poznan.  Following the museum visits, the Ambassador met with nearly two-dozen alumni of U.S. government programs.  The alumni described their experiences and impressions of the programs they participated in.  Afterwards, Ambassador Feinstein held a lunch meeting with Marshal Marek Woźniak and Wojewoda Piotr Florek of the Wielkopolskie province.  They discussed investment and the future stationing of an U.S. aviation detachment at bases in the region.  The Ambassador concluded his visit to Poznan with a tour of the Wrigley Company’s factory.  The factory is one of the largest U.S. investments in the region and its products, including chewing gum and mints, are distributed across Europe.
