Lieutenant General Ted Bowlds, Commander of the U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center (ESC) visited with Ministry of Defense and Polish Air Force Officials on August 26, 2009, announced Colonel Timothy Burke, Chief of the Office of Defense Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw.  The General and other ESC officials are in Warsaw to recognize 15 years of cooperation between the ESC and the Minister of Defense on the Air Sovereignty Operations Center, known as ASOC.  The ASOC system grew out of President Clinton’s 1994 Regional Airspace Initiative, and was one of the earliest and longest running military cooperation programs between the U.S. and Poland.  The Electronic Systems center is located at Hanscom Air Force Base, near Boston, Massachusetts.
