The U.S. Embassy Rocks the Floor with Break Dance this February.
Experience Hip - Hop culture with us through its elements such as breaking, music and street art! The U.S. Embassy is a patron of the biggest break dance event Rock The Floor featuring American b-boys Abstrak from New York as a judge, Thesis from Seattle, who represents Knuckleheads, Kid David from Los Angeles and Morris from California invited for “The Great 8” breaking event. American band Fusik will play live to the b-boys’ performances in Warsaw. The U.S. Embassy sponsors b-boys Abstrak’s and Morris’s travel to Poland.
Rock The Floor "The Great 8" main event will take place on February 26 in Fort Legionów in Warsaw and will highlight one-on-one challenges by seven b-boys exclusively invited from the U.S., Europe, Asia and Poland joined by the dancers selected in the eliminations in Warsaw and the winner of the eliminations in Sopot. On February 24, a battle for a place “To The Great 8” at Rock The Floor event will take place in Hollywood club in Sopot which will select the dancer to perform with the seven b-boys invited for “The Great 8”. American band Fusik will play live to the b-boys' performances at the Rock The Floor event.
Rock the Floor is not only about celebrating Hip – Hop culture, music and breaking. Following the motto “all passion, all together” the invited artists of street art from Poland and abroad will combine their vision and talents to create one piece of art. Their works will be displayed at a special exhibition in “Aktyn” gallery in Warsaw. The artists will also create a street art work especially for the U.S. Embassy.
B-boys Abstrak and Thesis will also run break dance workshops, on February 24 in Gdansk and on February 27 in Warsaw.
