Sikórz Middle School Students “Meet America” in the Embassy
Political Officer Michael Rosenthal talking about Polish-American relations to the students from Sikorz
On October 13th , as part of our “Meet America” program, the Embassy hosted a group of 26 middle school students from Sikórz, a small town near Płock, so they could learn from our diplomats about Polish-American historical relations, U.S. geographic diversity and American multiculturalism. Andrew Staples, Assistant General Services Office, explained to them how multiculturalism is perceived by American society.
“Are the United States and Poland good friends?”, asked Michael Rosenthal, Political Officer in the Embassy, when opening a discussion with the students on current Polish-American relations. Michael then talked about the most important moments in U.S. - Polish relations throughout our two countries’ long history of working together. Consular Officer James Day encouraged the students to visit and travel to the United States by showing them the diversity and beauty of various American landscapes. Our diplomats also answered questions from the students about their other interests, such as how Americans view Poles, how the three diplomats like living in Poland, visa issues and the role of Poland as a U.S. ally.
About “Meet America” – “Meet America” is a cultural program which invites Polish audiences to the Embassy to discuss U.S. topics of interest with our diplomats.
