Visa Renewals

My visa has expired and I would like to renew it.

A visa cannot be renewed, regardless of its type.  If your visa has expired, you will need to apply for a new one by following the procedures in How to Apply. If your U.S. visa has not yet expired, you are required to bring it to your visa interview. If it is in your old passport, then you must bring the old passport to the interview.

I have a valid visa in an expired passport.  Should I obtain a visa in my new passport?

You may travel with your old passport (with valid visa) and your new passport assuming that the visa is neither damaged nor canceled.  If you prefer to have a visa in your new passport, please follow the procedures in How to Apply. If your valid visa was issued after Dec. 10, 2007 please see Applicants that do not require interviews.
